Storyteller wanted to weave magic final

We are looking for a dynamic storyteller, author, or creative to work with us to help a range of students aged 4-11 from six different schools in Shepton Mallet to develop a new performance. You must be experienced in developing storylines and working with children. We are looking for someone to help students create the plot for the story which will then be crafted into a script / immersive performance in March 2020 led by Bowlish Infants School and Make the Sunshine Community Interest Company with a partnership of five other local primary schools.

  • Provide a whole school assembly to include a demonstration of powerful storytelling in each setting

  • Explain the creative writing process illuminating how to create a character, set the scene, form a narrative arc and develop plot

  • Working with project partners to design creative writing activities for each age group in response to their section of the storyline – support will be available from teaching staff for delivery

  • Lead a range of workshops with smaller groups and visit classes working on the story and reviewing activities that have been initiated by class teachers

  • Work with Bowlish Infant School and Make the Sunshine CiC to support children in developing a range of storyline possibilities for an immersive performance in March 2020
